I chose the book based on the grass that is was on par with a Clancy novel. Ummm, not so much. Although the story was told from the villain perspective, unless you happen to be a jihadi, it held enough interest to make it through. Some level of interesting strategy and tactic, but a bit short on where the Caliphate might have come across an Abrams tank as a roadbock. Issues like left some gaps for me in the story. Solid underlying message with uncontrolled immigration and potential for the ability to integrate into all levels of society so good job on that piece. It felt like there is another book or two that could have come from the ending but leaving it where it sits works tooProduct details

Some Overt conservative propaganda, or anti-liberal spin, is evident, but, though noticeable, it doesn't really detract much from the overall story, or its telling.
I enjoyed the book I just didn't enjoy the "literary blame-ism" in a few areas.
I recommend the read good military stuff, and decent characters with whom we can connect.
Again, well done, and only a little preachy.
THIS BOOK IS A "blueprint" FOR terrorists! THE details,actions,REACTIONS AND CONCLUSIONS COULD POSSIBLY COME TO pass! Maybe not exactly but modified! it may take 4+ years to set up with the madness of our laws, but highly possible!! answer? convert days is arabia,Iran afghagnistan, northern Pakistan into a radioactive continuous sheet of glass! keep our friends(allies) close but enemies closer! I could not put it down! but thoroughly enjoyed it! I wondered what happened to Jennifer and her son!
This story envisions a time in the future where ISIS has prevailed in the Middle East and established its Caliphate as one enormous country known as the Islamic State. Not enough explanation is given as to how this was allowed to happen. If you are willing to accept this premise then the story becomes an all too possible reality based on today's world situation. The resulting invasion and fall of Europe is a foregone conclusion. There is no optimism for the future as the Epilogue deals with resistance two centuries in the future. If anything this book can serve as a warning against complacency.
At first, the premise sounded implausible but intriguing. Then the invasion got worse and worse - disturbingly so in its extreme brutality. When I finished the story I felt conned... Like watching a three-hour movie only to have it abruptly end "to be continued" so you'd feel you had to see the sequel. This is Book #1 in a (long) series, but it should have had some semi-satisfying resolution for this book so the reader might feel it was worthwhile. No thanks. No sequel for me.
I found the premise of the story to be quite believable and possibly a portent of our future. Any extremist group could carry this plan out. It would take many years buy look how long the Jewish, Christian, Muslim conflict has lasted so far. I am not a military expert so the weapons and actions seemed realistic enough to scare me. The people that were the center of the story were very sympathetic and I felt they responded in an appropriate manner. The British people have a pride and sense of honor that I was happy to see was not expected to disappear in the future. In other words, I liked the book and since there was not any hope for a "happy" ending, I was content with the hope for the future that was expressed.
I found this to be an excellent story with believable characters set in believable situations.
I don't understand why people would be so desperate to leave their country and go to another and then want to make their new home just like the one they left. But it seems many do just that. Just a few days ago I was reading where some muslim in Europe was looking forward to the day then they will have more muslims than natives and then they can take over.
In this book the author makes a story out of this, combined with a powerful Islamic home base to stage an invasion of virtually all of Europe. The story concentrates on Britain (The author is British.) but that's OK. If it were set in Greece and written in Greek I wouldn't be able to read it.
I immediately ordered the next book in the series. And if it becomes a long series, I'll probably order them also.
Overall, this was a good read. With enough detail that it bordered on excessive and in other areas, it bordered on boring, with the excess details really adding nothing of substance to the overall storyline.
Still, in all this was a decent read and one which describes a virtual invasion of the British Empire, it's downfall and the political strife discussing how easy it is for allies to fail to assist a comrade when the politics of the day make the sacrifice politically expedient.
I have yet to determine if there is any subsequent books but if there are, I can see investing in them to learn the fate of one of America's oldest allies.
My recommendation is that you should buy this book if you like this type of story line.
